Internships provide a great opportunity for students to gain work experience and connect with professionals in their field before graduating. With intentional learning goals, supervision, and evaluation, interns apply their classroom learning to develop transferrable skills and expand their professional network.
Research by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) indicates that applicants with internship experience enjoy a significant advantage in the percentage of full-time job offers received over their non-intern competitors. Graduates who completed an internship or co-op assignment were 20% more likely to have a job at graduation.
The Center for Career & Professional Development is excited to announce the SC Experiential Learning Grant: Intern&Earn, a state-funded program for undergraduate students engaging in off-campus internships in Fall 2024.
Students enrolled in an eligible INT course and accepted into the SC Experiential Learning Grant: Intern&Earn program can qualify to receive supplementary funding for their internship experience. Students can receive additional monies for their experience ranging from $500 to $2,500. The disbursements for this program are dependent on variables like a student’s state residency and financial need and will be available until the grant monies are exhausted.
Work with our team to build a successful internship program, hire Clemson Tigers, and add value to your organization.
