S.C. Experiential Learning Grant: Intern&Earn

Summer 2025 Grant Information:

The Center for Career & Professional Development is facilitating the SC Experiential Learning Grant: Intern&Earn, a state-funded program for undergraduate students engaging in off-campus internships in Summer 2025.

Students enrolled in an eligible INT course and accepted into the SC Experiential Learning Grant: Intern&Earn program can qualify to receive supplementary funding for their internship experience. Students can receive additional monies for their experience ranging from $500 to $2,500. The disbursements for this program are dependent on variables like a student’s state residency and financial need and will be available until the SC ExL Grant monies are exhausted.

  • Students cannot receive the grant in back-to-back semesters.
  • Be an undergraduate student who has secured an internship for Summer 2025, with a minimum number of hours worked during the internship to be at least 160 hours.
  • Complete the Internship Funding Request Form
  • Enroll in an eligible INT course
    • Part-time internship: INT 1010/1020/1030, 160 hours
    • Full-time internship: INT 2010/2020/2030, or international internship: 3010, 320 hours
  • Eligibility for the grant is contingent on course enrollment. Course enrollment will be verified before the grant is approved.
    • This enrollment can be concurrent with a major-specific or program-required internship course.
  • Rather than paying tuition, only INT fees ($200) apply unless other coursework is added to the schedule.
  • Please note that experiences held at higher education institutions and/or K-12 schools do not qualify for grant funding.
  • Failure to enroll in or successfully pass the INT course will result in a “hold” placed on your Clemson account until the funds are repaid.

The Center for Career and Professional Development offers an internship course that provides 3-credit hours towards the Global Challenges requirement. The INT 3500 and INT 3600 courses are intended to help explore how we form concepts of professional and cultural differences and customs.

Correlating INT 1000-level courses (part-time internships) and INT 2000-level courses (full-time internships) are to be taken in conjunction with this course.
