Our internship program is the perfect steppingstone to a meaningful career at Williams, offering opportunities to expand your network, explore the energy industry, and gain hands-on experience that helps launch your career. You’ll contribute to impactful work, develop valuable skills, and help shape an industry that affects millions of lives. Each summer, a select group of highly motivated college students joins our 10-to-12-week internship program. Through meaningful projects, mentorship from leaders, cross-functional collaboration, and professional development opportunities, you’ll build your skills while making an immediate impact. Along the way, you’ll be encouraged to think creatively, act courageously, work collaboratively, and strive for excellence. Guided by our values, you’ll be challenged, supported, and empowered to grow while discovering how you can make a lasting impact at Williams.

Our General Business/IT Internships will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma or Houston, Texas.

A $2,500 housing stipend will be provided; additional relocation will also be given for those moving more than 50 miles from their home and school address.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Required: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within Business/Data Analytics, Economics, Energy Management, Financial Engineering, AI Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Data Science or an MBA with a graduation date of December 2027 or beyond

  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship, OPT or CPT

  • Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record

  • Willingness and ability to relocate for the summer to our business internship locations

What You’ll Do:

  • Develops an understanding of our core business and operating areas

  • Gathers and analyzes real-time data to identify efficiencies and ensure proper asset maintenance

  • Builds credibility with customers by contributing to major projects and capital expansions

  • Collaborates with various teams across operating areas and fields to achieve enterprise goals

  • Work schedule is generally Monday-Friday 40 hours/week; hybrid schedule may be available

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority

  • Ability to work independently, within a team and within a matrix environment

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and creative thinking skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and PC skills

  • Leadership experience

  • Intellectual curiosity

Pay:

Pay is a nonnegotiable, hourly rate that is determined by graduation date:

General Business:

  • Master’s Program = $35.70

  • Fall 2027 – Spring 2028= $32.50

  • Summer 2028, Fall 2028, and Spring 2029= $28.80

  • Summer 2029 and beyond= $25.20

MIS/BIS/CIS/Data Science:

  • Master’s Program = $38.50

  • Fall 2027 – Spring 2028= $35.00

  • Summer 2028, Fall 2028, and Spring 2029= $31.20

  • Summer 2029 and beyond= $27.30

AI Engineering/Computer Science:

  • Master’s Program = $40.50

  • Fall 2027 – Spring 2028= $36.80

  • Summer 2028, Fall 2028, and Spring 2029= $32.70

  • Summer 2029 and beyond= $28.60

Financial Engineering:

  • Master’s Program = $60.00

  • Fall 2027 – Spring 2028= $54.10

  • Summer 2028, Fall 2028, and Spring 2029= $48.10

  • Summer 2029 and beyond= $42.10

We also offer accrued sick pay, medical and 401(k) benefits.
