Process Automation Internship

Job Overview
The Process Automation Intern will support the U.S. HR team at SHL Medical to implement solutions for automation and efficiency in benefits administration processes. The result of the internship will ensure benefits regulatory compliance and data accuracy in our rapidly growing organization. The ideal candidate will have a passion for continuous improvement, and finding creative solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Review process instructions and identify solutions for automating and improving efficiency in existing benefits processes, including but not limited to:
- Internal audits of benefits data across multiple internal and external platforms.
- Distribution of required employee notices.
- Regulatory reporting requirements for healthcare and retirement plans.
- Audit of monthly premium statements from group insurance policies
- Support with the implementation of a new benefits administration platform
- Identify additional opportunities for automating future manual processes.
- Test and provide input for improving employee communication in new platform.
- Create audit process for new systems integrations.
- Update process documentation, as needed.
- Train the HR team on the updated processes.
- May support with the transition to a 3rd party leave vendor.
- Support the HR team with special events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualification
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel
- Proficient with Power Apps including Power BI and Power Automate
- Experience implementing process automation solutions
- Analytical skills, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Team player and self-starter with strong communication skills
- Comfortable recommending solutions for improvement
- Preferred: (nice to have):
- Advanced automation experience
- Experience implementing AI solutions
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Success Factors, or similar HR systems
