Overview
RES is looking for a Water Quality Technical Client Solutions Manager (WQTCSM), sitting in our Richmond, VA, Glen Burnie, MD, Columbus, OH, Orlando, FL offices or remotely.
The mission: The WQTCSM will drive the sales and business development function and promote RES’ water quality solutions throughout targeted states and regions of the United States, this position being vital to the company’s strategic vision for landscape-scale restoration. The WQTCSM will work with the National Water Quality Solutions Team to market watershed-scale integrated delivery projects in water quality and resilience directly to prospects and clients across the Great Lakes and Eastern United States.
What your day-to-day might look like?
As the Water Quality Technical Client Solutions Manager, you will possess in-depth knowledge of water quality regulations, including CWA section 401 and ecological restoration practices aimed at improving water quality. Experience in business development/sales, project development, and delivery. Concept development will also be a significant part of your daily activities, contributing to the growth and success of the organization. Travel is expected approximately 25% to 50% of your time as priorities require.
Developing a pro forma and translating financial details to the overall ROI of deals will be another critical responsibility. You will need to be proficient in identifying opportunities and making sound Go/No Go decisions. You will communicate these financial aspects to key stakeholders, ensuring they understand the value and implications. A detailed understanding of applicable contract structures, such as credits, PRM, integrated delivery, and pay-for-performance, will be necessary. You will demonstrate the ability to negotiate and present financial and contractual information to customers effectively.
Mentoring and coaching less experienced coworkers to build internal skills will be part of your role, fostering a knowledgeable and capable team. You will also coach regional sales teams on writing style and format for client and internal deliverables, as well as QA/QC proposals, presentations, and legal documents.

Qualifications
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
- 5+ years of experience in identifying, selling and closing water quality improvement projects.
- Direct working experience and relationships with the private sector, including energy, oil, gas, transportation, developers, or utilities, and existing connections with channel partners, such as consulting, design, and engineering firms.
- Existing relationships and experience working with Federal, NGOs, State, County, and City government officials in key states or regions of the United States.
- Understanding of Federal, State and other funding opportunities and how to secure funding into an integrated delivery deal for large projects.
- Existing relationships with regulatory stakeholders, including USACE, USFWS, and state water quality agencies.
- Experience with relevant environmental regulations and permits/approvals (e.g. CWA 404/401/402, Clean Waterways Act, water quality credit banking, TMDLs, NWP/IP, ESA, CBP).
