A minimum of a college degree in Business Administration or Accounting is required with at least ten (10) years of financial management experience in a high paced manufacturing environment.
Proficient in all phases of Accounting disciplines including general accounting, cost accounting, cash management and inventory management.
Responsible for the establishment, maintenance and integrity of the Company’s accounting records for all assets, liabilities and transactions, consistent with policies and procedures established to conform with regulatory, parent company and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Perform all general accounting and general ledger duties including account analysis, adjusting journal entries through trial balance, monthly closing and preparation of financial statements. Prepare monthly internal reporting and corporate reporting package by established due dates.
Proficient in financial planning, forecasting, budget preparation, capital expense planning, ROI analysis, tax returns, and census bureau reporting.
Knowledge of payroll procedures, benefit administration, commercial insurance and Workers’ Compensation insurance programs. Administer overall company profit sharing 401K program including relationship with record keeper and investment advisor.
Ability to maintain professional relationships with external service providers including auditing firm, law firm, bank, insurance brokers and companies, key precious metal suppliers and refiners.
Maintain corporate minutes.
Handle any required communication with the Secretary of State.
Working knowledge of computers and use of Microsoft Office. Ability to learn and use proprietary software which includes operations management and accounting functions.
Ability to work under demanding conditions is required.
Ability to make sound decisions based upon company-provided procedures.
Ability to work overtime when required to meet reporting deadlines.
Ability to discern areas for improvement and enact continuous improvement programs for increased department efficiency and improved internal performance reporting. Support 5S program initiative.
Physical demands of this position require an above average amount of mental concentration. Much of the work performed is seated with short durations of walking about the plant to gather information or attend meetings. some lifting of packages and carrying short distances.
Experience in a fast paced manufacturing setting.
Be able to apply job costing practices to determine profitability performance of individual programs.
Analyze job cost and breakdown by product. Cost reduction activities and identify cost drivers and develop/implement improvement plans. Identifies manufacturing wastes and makes recommendations for cost savings improvements. analyze reports and explain variances and work with management team to correct.
Validate costs of goods sold.
