Global Classroom’s thematic-based workshops are creative, engaging, and globally-focused. Global Classroom interns gain first-hand experience at an international education non-profit and have the opportunity to work with people from all over the world. Interns work directly with the Director and Coordinator of Global Classroom to fulfill the needs of the position, while also meeting their personal professional development goals.
Responsibilities:

- Mentor Global Guides from a range of cultures and backgrounds with workshop planning via Zoom meetings in advance of their workshop
- Assist Global Guides with student engagement and responsive classroom management during workshops
- Communicate with Global Guides and program partners (teachers, admin, staff)
- Conduct program documentation and evaluation, including data entry, organization, and analysis
- Create social media content to advertise accomplishments and partnerships, and spark interest in the Global Classroom program
- Support the Global Classroom team with additional programs, including training, teacher professional development, community events, and One To World special events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred – highly motivated upper-level undergraduates considered)
- Experience leading or working with young people (required)
- Experience working in schools, after-school organizations, and/or summer camps in the USA (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, cross-cultural)
- Interest or experience in global or intercultural education
- Ability to take initiative and maintain flexibility
- Proficiency with Google Drive and Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel throughout New York City, including outer boroughs (required)
Hours:
- 15-20 hours per week (on average); January–May 2026
- The intern will work with the Global Classroom Coordinator to set weekly working hours; some programs have the potential to begin before 9 am or end after 5 pm based on our partner schedules
Compensation:
- Weekly stipend of $275 provided. We will gladly support your efforts to secure school credit and additional funding. (Note: One To World as an organization immensely values the experiences and perspectives of international students studying and living in the US. However, at this time, only US citizens, permanent residents, or international students with a CPT/OPT visa are eligible to be paid the weekly stipend.)
Application Directions:
- Please email a thoughtful cover letter and resume to the Global Classroom Director, Leeza Salen, at leeza@onetoworld.org. *Please write “Global Classroom Intern Application – your name” in the subject line.
