Moore Hackney & Associates, PLLC is a Lincolnton, NC-based firm that specializes in engineering consulting for building structures and envelopes (roof, glazing, cladding, and waterproofing). Our engineers investigate buildings in order to understand design and construction defects. This knowledge is used in turn to provide opinions of the cause of the deficiency, reasonable repair solutions, and designs.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will support activities related to the evaluation of various building systems. These activities include analyzing building designs and construction, researching and reviewing construction documents, and developing solutions for design and construction-related issues. Responsibilities include:
- Field observations and documentation.
- Evaluation of building and component systems for design/construction defects.
- Structural analysis of wood, concrete and/or steel.
- Research and review of building codes, industry standards, manufacturer installation instructions, and other technical references.
- Field and/or laboratory testing.
- Drafting of details using AutoCAD.
- Writing reports detailing inspections, analysis and conclusions.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified candidates must be graduating in 2026.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Science and Management. Master’s degree candidates are also welcome to apply.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of fundamental engineering and construction principles.
- Ability to work in a team environment collaborating with engineers.
- Ability to work in an office and/or construction environment.
- Willingness to travel.
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident.
