POSITION DESCRIPTION: Paid summer internship with the potential for part-time work when classes resume in the Fall. The successful candidate will assist with water, wastewater, and general civil engineering projects which may include collection and distribution pipelines, pump stations, hydraulic modeling, water treatment, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and environmental compliance.
Typical activities: Interns are integrated into our teams of project engineers. Since a significant portion of our consulting services are related to water conveyance, storage, and pumping, the candidate should expect a substantial focus on hydraulic design activities.
Tasks often include assistance with preliminary engineering, development of construction documents, permit coordination, construction administration, and other aspects of civil engineering services. Regular use of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Excel, and Word is common.
QUALIFICATIONS: Rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student studying Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· Capable of moderate lifting (generally 25 pounds or less)
· Capable of operating a motor vehicle, must have valid driver license
