Civil Engineering Intern

GMcivil is looking for civil, transportation, environmental, and construction management engineering students that have a good work ethic, a great attitude, and the willingness to work for a unique company. Being a small company, a co-op and intern students will have the opportunity to work closely with the engineers and surveyors on staff on real projects with real budgets and deadlines. We have high expectations for our company, our employees, and our students. After being acclimated to our office and our CAD drafting program in the first week, the student will initially be working on preliminary land plans, cost estimates, feasibility analyses, and preliminary plats. Most students begin assisting with the design of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, storm drain systems, paving design, and grading design for single-family residential subdivisions and industrial distribution centers within the first month. Compared to what other companies might be able to offer, we believe our company structure and historical program involvement offers students more hands-on experience and opportunity to develop the initial skills related to the various aspects of civil engineering design. In addition to this being a paid position, we also offer free housing for our students, through fully furnished apartment units that we rent year-round within walking distance of our Grapevine, Texas office. GMcivil also reimburses students for travel expenses to and from the Dallas/Fort Worth area each semester.
