About the Role
The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling finished equipment, packaging products, filling and labeling chemical products, and supporting manufacturing operations through both direct and indirect labor activities. This position works across multiple production areas to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. The Assembly Technician plays a key role in maintaining production schedules, supporting inventory accuracy, and continuously improving manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electrostatic sprayers and other equipment according to work instructions and engineering specifications
- Build subassemblies and complete final equipment assembly while meeting quality standards
- Perform functional testing, inspections, and basic troubleshooting of assembled equipment
- Fill bottles, pails, drums, and other containers with chemical products following approved batch records and SOPs
- Apply labels, lot codes, date codes, and package finished goods for shipment
- Verify product quality through visual inspections and required quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
- Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, and labor reporting
- Perform material handling activities including staging raw materials and moving finished goods between workstations
- Support production line changeovers, equipment setup, cleaning, and preventative maintenance activities
- Assist with inventory transactions, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe production work areas using 5S principles
- Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, EPA regulations, and chemical handling procedures
- Identify production issues and communicate concerns to supervisors in a timely manner
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction
- Cross-train in multiple production areas including assembly, chemical filling, labeling, packaging, and material handling
- Perform other direct and indirect labor duties as assigned to support production requirements
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of manufacturing, production, assembly, or warehouse experience preferred
- Experience with mechanical assembly and use of hand and power tools preferred
- Experience in chemical manufacturing, bottling, packaging, or filling operations is a plus
- Ability to read work instructions, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products
- Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and chemical products
- Basic computer skills for production reporting and inventory transactions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely move production materials throughout the facility
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen

- Experience working in Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
- Completion of, or enrollment in, a manufacturing/mechatronics certificate program (e.g., Tri-County Technical College) is a plus

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, and reach for full shift durations
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.; occasionally push/pull material handling equipment
- Exposure to chemical products, fumes, and cleaning agents requiring proper PPE (gloves, safety glasses, respirators as required)
- Work performed in a manufacturing/production environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and variable temperatures
- Repetitive motion tasks associated with assembly and filling operations
- Full-time schedule; overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production demand
