Description
Reporting to the Department Chair, the Public Health Faculty is expected to
• Be an active contributor to the One Health research community on the Clemson University campus
• Integrate and collaborate with the school of public health in support of access to care initiatives across the state of South Carolina
The public health faculty will also provide training opportunities in the following areas highlighted by the AVMA:
• Prevention of zoonotic disease
• Ensuring food safety and security
• Advancing biomedical research
• Promoting environmental and ecosystem health
• Supporting bioterrorism preparedness
Additionally, the faculty member must have the ability to:
• Emulate our PCVM cultural values including integrity, authenticity, respect, welcoming, trust and collaboration
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, possess exemplary verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and function independently with limited supervision and guidance
• Work in partnership with faculty and staff across multiple disciplines and functions across the college and university
• Participate in research and scholarship initiatives designed to improve educational and professional outcomes
• Demonstrate a commitment to the core values of Clemson University and specifically to community, engagement, belonging and accessibility (CEBA)
Qualifications
• DVM
• Advanced training in public health (MPH, certificate programs etc)
Preferred qualifications include:
• Board certification or residency training in a veterinary specialty recognized by the ABVS (ACVIM, ABVP, etc.)
• 3 plus years of relevant experience in veterinary medicine or education
