Utilizing the Change Management process identifies, collects data, analyzes, and interprets the information that meets the organization’s business needs. Collaborate with stakeholders and developers to identify the business resolution for a business need or problem resolution. Makes recommendations for the development or enhancements of existing systems.
JOB DUTIES:
Business Analysis: Evaluate the business needs or technology enhancement that can improve the fundraising efforts of the Division of Advancement. Creates and updates work tasks, including business objectives, assumptions, action items, and workflows for application solutions by programmers/developers.
JOB TASKS:
1. Identify opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes throughout Advancement; assist in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.
a. Engage stakeholders to assess business value and to determine if the process can be changed to improve efficiency or reduce effort.
b. Examine repeated work items with high value to determine if processes can be improved to reduce effort or eliminate work items.
2. Track and document changes for functional and business specifications; write detailed and universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training.
a. Gather requirements for projects as prioritized and assigned by the Director of IT
b. Define and document customer business objectives, functions and processes by creating current state analyses, documentation containing definitions, process flows and procedures, responsibilities, assumptions, mockups, training materials, and timelines, if applicable, for each project.
c. Review requirements with the team to ensure the project’s feasibility and understanding by the team. Adjust based on team feedback and, communicate requirements back to users/stakeholders, and obtain agreement, working as a liaison between stakeholders and developers.
e. Prepares and implements User Acceptance testing with requestors and/or users.
f. Researches and prepares reports and/or consolidated data for use in management decision-making.
g. Generate charts/graphs, timelines, workflow diagrams, etc., for data visualization to assist in making decisions or tracking progress.
3. Be a member of the CUF IT Team
a. Participate in project management planning sessions for the IT Team
b. Maintain a sense of collaboration (teamwork) in planning and managing work assignments; document process/plans for peer cross-training; communicate progress and status updates.
c. Ensure that all work conforms to technical and security standards and follows documented business processes.
d. Adhere to all CCIT Computing, Advancement, and CUF Policies
Eligibility requirements: UPIC interns must be enrolled, matriculating, full-time (12+ credit hours for part time interns) Clemson University undergraduate students in good academic standing and non-academic alert status (minimum cumulative Clemson GPA of 2.0) and in good status with the UPIC program. Once selected, in order to participate in the UPIC Program, student interns must enroll in the required INT course ($200 course fee) and complete hiring paperwork with the UPIC office.
Interns cannot begin working until the hiring process is complete.
