Position Overview: The Licensing & Operations Support Intern will work closely with the Program Coordinator and licensing staff at the Department of Pesticide Regulation. This role provides hands-on experience in licensing operations, database management, and administrative support, with opportunities to contribute to both day-to-day functions and special projects. Key Responsibilities: The Licensing & Operations Support Intern will assist with the implementation of various database enhancement projects while supporting the department’s licensing and operations activities. Responsibilities include updating and enhancing departmental bulletins and documents in alignment with university-approved branding guidelines when needed. The intern will assist with managing incoming phone calls and voicemails, process pesticide vehicle decal requests, and prepare related mailings. Additional duties include assisting with reciprocal license verification, performing data entry and data clean-up related to licensing, exam certification, and credit recertification, and maintaining electronic filing systems (Box) for accurate tracking, retrieval, and reporting. The intern will also provide support to the IT programmer as needed and perform other general office duties as assigned. Qualifications: Successful candidates will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality, especially when handling sensitive applicator information. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to work independently, stay on task, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, eager to learn, and capable of contributing to a professional office environment. Eligibility requirements: UPIC interns must be enrolled, matriculating, full-time (12+ credit hours for part time interns) Clemson University undergraduate students in good academic standing and non-academic alert status (minimum cumulative Clemson GPA of 2.0) and in good status with the UPIC program. Once selected, in order to participate in the UPIC Program, student interns must enroll in the required INT course ($200 course fee) and complete hiring paperwork with the UPIC office.
Interns cannot begin working until the hiring process is complete.
