This internship will provide an opportunity for student to get hands-on experience with social media, marketing, promotions, and branding.
The intern will assist in creating and posting/distributing news stories and updates (department, faculty, staff, students, and alumni), marketing key events (information sessions, speakers, lunch and learn sessions, advising, etc.), creating newsletters for alumni and stakeholders, and measuring results for promotional strategies developed for the Department of Marketing and the Thomas F. Chapman Leadership Scholars program.
Through interaction and collaboration with business, community, and academic leaders as well as other students, the intern will develop a professional network and gain experience developing promotional materials across different media, which will help her/him become market-ready.
Working and interacting with both external (ie, corporate partners, business professionals, industry/community leaders, alumni) and internal (ie, faculty, staff) stakeholders, the intern will gain experience learning how to communicate, develop, and present material to different groups.
The ability to interact, communicate, develop promotional materials, measure results, accept feedback, and revise plans/strategies will be beneficial to a student’s career development.

Eligibility requirements: UPIC interns must be enrolled, matriculating, full-time (12+ credit hours for part time interns) Clemson University undergraduate students in good academic standing and non-academic alert status (minimum cumulative Clemson GPA of 2.0) and in good status with the UPIC program. Once selected, in order to participate in the UPIC Program, student interns must enroll in the required INT course ($200 course fee) and complete hiring paperwork with the UPIC office.
