The College of Science consists of one school and four departments.
The College offers a range of Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees, as well as Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees in physical, mathematical and life sciences.
On the marketing and communications team, we are responsible for digital and print media for the College of Science.
Work Hours:
Student may set hours each semester.
These hours usually fall between 9 am and 5 pm M-F, but there is considerable flexibility in this schedule.
Job Description:
1) Join our team as a social media coordinator, helping the department to plan, develop and disseminate content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, student newsletters and other venues.
2) Help develop and follow a social media calendar of events.
3) Keep track of departmental social media metrics (instruction will be provided).
4) Depending on the students skillset, there might be requests for photography, but this is not essential.
Skills:
1)The ideal candidate is creative with attention to detail.
2) The ideal student is proficient, knowledge and active in social media.
3) Must be able to communicate professionally by email and in person.
4) Must be open to making edits and taking constructive criticism.
5) Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator are desired but not essential.
The intern will work directly for the Director of Communications and Marketing but will also spend considerable time with the Marketing Strategist, Online and Print Coordinator and our Science Writer.

The intern will be trained on branding guidelines.
The intern will have the opportunity to write stories and take photographs, if applicable to the students skillset.
The intern will gain experience communicating with internal clients, as well as professionals in print design, web design, and journalism.
Upon completion of the semester, the student will have gained extensive knowledge on how to operate in a professional environment, both within and outside the university setting.
Eligibility requirements: UPIC interns must be enrolled, matriculating, full-time (12+ credit hours for part-time interns) Clemson University undergraduate students in good academic standing and non-academic alert status (minimum cumulative Clemson GPA of 2.0) and in good status with the UPIC program. Once selected, to participate in the UPIC Program, student interns must enroll in the required INT course ($200 course fee) and complete hiring paperwork with the UPIC office. Interns cannot begin working until the hiring process is complete.
