Description
The Nieri Department of Construction and Real Estate Development (NCRED) in the College of Architecture, Art and Construction (CAAC) at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with the anticipated start date of August 1, 2026.
The successful candidate will:
• Develop and sustain a rigorous, externally funded research program in areas that support and advance the mission of the department and the broader built environment. Preferred research areas include, but are not limited to: *Structural systems and design integration *Materials science and building material technologies *3D printing and additive manufacturing in construction *Virtual and augmented reality applications for construction *Emerging construction technologies
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Construction Science and Management (CSM) curriculum
• Contribute to department, college, university, and external service activities
• Engage with industry and professional communities to support outreach and collaboration.
Qualifications
• A Ph.D. in Construction Science and Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline (completed by August 15, 2026)
• Evidence of the potential to develop a strong research agenda with peer-reviewed publications and future funding
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the core Construction Management curriculum
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, student mentoring, and service Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience or research in one or more of the department’s priority areas: analysis and design of structural systems, materials science, 3D printing, VR/AR, and building materials
• Prior teaching experience at the university level
• Industry experience in construction or related fields
