Job description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in swimming and related activities. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming techniques to individuals of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment. Your role will also involve engaging with students, managing behavior effectively, and fostering a love for water activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct swimming lessons for various age groups and skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers.
- Follow designed lesson plans or develop individualized lesson plans tailored to the needs and abilities of each student as needed.
- Monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and regulations.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
- Engage with students in a supportive manner, encouraging their development in swimming and water safety.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to create a cohesive program that promotes physical fitness and enjoyment of swimming.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Experience in swim instruction.
- Current CPR Certification or Lifeguard Certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students and parents.
- Ability to work well with children and create a fun learning environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills are a must.
- Previous experience in childcare or sports coaching is a plus.
