MST is a well-researched community-based treatment model directed at youth involved in activities which place them at a high risk for involvement with the Department of Juvenile Justice and/or placement outside of the home. Duties included in the implementation of MST include and are not limited to assessment, treatment and collaboration with families and external agencies from a systemic perspective. As such, a firm grounding in the theoretical principles of Cognitive-Behavioral, Structural, Strategic and other behaviorally-based therapies is strongly desired. It should be noted that interventions will primarily be conducted on the parental level with limited interaction with the identified youth.
The selected clinician will function as part of an MST team which is committed to breaking the cycle of antisocial behavior by keeping teens at home, in school and out of trouble. As part of this team, the clinician will participate in weekly team supervision and consultation guided by the continuous quality improvement guidelines of the MST Institute.
