Axe Pay is hiring a motivated, relationship-driven Independent Sales Agent to represent our industry-leading payment processing solutions across Clemson, SC and neighboring cities. This is a unique opportunity to build a strong local book of business—backed by Axe Pay and Clemson Athletics (Axe Pay is proud to announce we have signed a 3-year, Small Business Partnership with Clemson Athletics!) that will actively help you open doors and sell a solution merchants genuinely need and want.

What You’ll Do
- Prospect, present, and close new merchant accounts in the Clemson-area market
- Work closely with Axe Pay and our local partner organization to generate and convert opportunities
- Educate business owners on how Axe Pay reduces (or eliminates) processing costs while improving cash flow
- Build long-term relationships with merchants and local referral partners
- Manage your pipeline from first conversation through close and onboarding handoff
- Maintain accurate activity and pipeline tracking (CRM or similar tools)
Qualifications
Required / Preferred
- Must live in Clemson, SC or within close commuting distance
- 1–3+ years of B2B sales experience (preferred); merchant services, POS, SaaS, telecom, or financial services experience is a plus
- Proven ability to prospect, build pipeline, and close deals (hunter mentality)
- Strong consultative selling skills—able to uncover merchant pain points and present clear ROI/value
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (in-person, phone, email)
- Comfortable working independently in a performance-driven role; strong time management and follow-through
- Ability to travel locally throughout Clemson and surrounding cities for meetings, networking, and onsite visits
- Proficiency with basic sales tools (CRM, email, calendar, proposal/quote tools)
- Professional, reliable, and able to represent Axe Pay and our partner organization with integrity
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Nice-to-Haves
- Existing relationships with local business owners, chambers, associations, or referral partners
- Understanding of payment processing, interchange, POS systems, or merchant fee structures
- Experience working partner-driven leads and turning warm introductions into closed business

Compensation
This is a contract position with a compensation range of $50,000–$80,000+ annually, based on performance.
