Anderson Lights of Hope is seeking a creative and dependable computer programmer to help design, program, and operate animated Christmas light displays for the 2026 Anderson Christmas Lights season.
This position is ideal for someone interested in computer programming, lighting technology, robotics, electronics, or synchronized light shows. The programmer will help bring new displays to life using Light-O-Rama and other lighting-control systems
Responsibilities
- Program animated Christmas light displays and sequences.
- Create movement, color changes, flashing patterns, and other lighting effects.
- Work with Light-O-Rama software and compatible control systems.
- Connect and test controllers, lights, cables, and display components.
- Troubleshoot programming, communication, and equipment problems.
- Coordinate lighting sequences with music when needed.
- Assist with installing and testing displays before opening night.
- Monitor programmed displays and make corrections during the season.
- Maintain organized backups of programs and lighting sequences.
- Work closely with event leadership, electricians, and display-building volunteers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or interest in computer programming, robotics, electronics, or theatrical lighting.
- Familiarity with Light-O-Rama is preferred but not required.
- Ability to learn new computer programs and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable transportation to the Anderson Christmas Lights location.
- Availability during setup and testing periods before the event opens.
Compensation is based upon knowledge of the programming process and work completed.
