The career center works for YOU
In this tough job market, you might think that jobs just don't exist. Not true! Employers are still hiring, but certainly less so than in previous years. The career center works hard to build and maintain networks with employers in a variety of industries and geographic areas.
Here are a few things the career center does to support your job search:
Educate students about how to prepare and start your job search. Visit the Michelin Career Center, 316 Hendrix Student Center, or our website for more information http://career.clemson.edu - Offer many job opportunities on ClemsonJobLink (our on-line recruiting system) so you can apply to job postings, on-campus interviews, and see who is attending career fairs
- Offer phone and video interviews for employers who cannot come on-campus or bring you to their site to interview. This is a budget saver for employers
- Track the news locally and regionally and reaching out to any new employers coming to the area or expanding their operations in the near future.
- Maintain membership in job search programs and consortiums to support your search, such as CareerShift, Vault, eLeads, and NACELink.
Don't let the scary news paralyze you! Even if unemployment reaches 10%, that means 90% of us are employed. To be one of the employed, get going on that job search and use the resources MCC has to offer!
