Career Center Internship Course

Hello potential CCINT student!

The Michelin Career Center is pleased to inform you about the two internship courses we offer.  CCINT 101 is our part-time internship course and requires a minimum of 160 internship-site hours, while CCINT 201 is our full-time internship course and requires 320 site hours.  Both courses correspond with students via the web, which enables students to intern on national and international levels.  Should you choose to enroll in either class, your first responsibility will be to secure an internship in your major or field of interest.  Please note that internship site approval by the CCINT course instructor (Troy Nunamaker) is required on or before the last day that students may add a class to their course schedule in any given semester. Should you desire, the Career Center can assist you in your internship search process.

Important Notes

The fee for the course is $125.  The last day to withdraw from the class without a W Grade is consistent with the last day to withdraw from any course according to the Clemson University academic calendar, which can be found at http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/html/Acad_Cal.htm.  If you need any help with completing forms or sending letters your department concerning your internship experience, please do not hesitate to contact Troy Nunamaker or Kristen Walker (contact information given below).

The difference between CCINT 101 and CCINT 201

CCINT 101

160 contact hours (part-time). Students can enroll in CCINT 101 as part of a full time course load during fall and spring semesters, or enroll in only CCINT 101 for the summer semesters. Zero credit hour course.

CCINT 201

320 contact hours (full time). Students enroll only in CCINT 201 and work full time during any semester. Zero credit hour course.

Assignments

  1. You are responsible for contacting the Financial Aid Office to set up a time to discuss how taking CCINT will affect your financial aid package.  After speaking with financial aid, you are to complete the Michelin Career Center Contract and Prospectus with your internship site supervisor.  Please see http://career.clemson.edu/students/internships/ccint_contract.pdf for a blank version of the contract.  You will note that at the bottom of the contract, there are instructions for how to write your prospectus.  Please send both documents back to Talia Corley via fax, mail, or email no later than the last day to add a course in order to gain approval for entrance into this course.  Please contact Talia should you have any questions or concerns about this matter.
  2. As the course description notes, you must attend a Michelin Career Center internship workshop.  However, since most CCINT students do not do their internship experience in the Clemson area, an internship training PowerPoint will suffice.  You will review the slides and answer ten quiz questions.  Your quiz answers must be emailed to Talia Corley no later than deadline for withdrawing from courses for the semester.
  3. Your last assignment for the internship course is comprised of two final evaluations, one to be completed by you and one by your supervisor.  Your final evaluation will include a reflection essay question.  Both documents will be due at the end of Summer II.  The evaluations will be sent via email to you and your supervisor approximately one month prior to the end of the semester.

We look forward to potentially working with you through CCINT.  Please let us know if you have questions, concerns or updates and feel free to call, stop by, or email at any time.
