The Cooperative Education Program provides an opportunity for students to alternate semesters of academic study with semesters of paid, career-related, engaged-learning experience. A basic goal of this experiential-learning program is to help bridge the gap between academic study and its application in professional practice. Each student's Co-op experience is monitored by the Co-op faculty to ensure learning. Cooperative Education, as the term implies, represents a partnership among the University, students, participating industries, businesses and government agencies.
Having the opportunity to apply what you have learned in class and to learn material not yet covered can enhance your academic performance and give you a competitive edge when seeking full-time employment upon graduation. Participation in the program gives you the chance to:
